Johnnie O. Michael, Sr., is a certified life coach and the visionary behind The Five Pillars Empowerment Coaching & Mentoring, Inc., an organization dedicated to helping individuals achieve their goals and fulfill their God-given potential. With years of both formal and informal mentoring and coaching experience in his community, churches, and among family and friends, Johnnie has long been a trusted source of guidance and encouragement. Recognizing his passion for empowering others, he was inspired to formalize his efforts and pursue professional certification through the Certified Life Coach Institute.
Johnnie’s career journey reflects a unique blend of creativity, leadership, and technical expertise. Prior to his coaching and mentoring endeavors, Johnnie excelled in multiple fields, including the arts, real estate, and information technology.
As a native of Washington, D.C., he began his technical career in Information Technology while also pursuing a parallel career as an actor, playwright, and producer, creating impactful theater and film projects designed to inspire and motivate audiences. Over the years, his body of work expanded to include screenwriting, directing, and producing faith-based films and theatrical productions through JMSP Entertainment & Films, LLC, a company he founded to address real-life issues through creative storytelling.
Johnnie boasts a distinguished 35-year career in information technology. His roles included operations management, network engineering, and IT project leadership, where he provided critical support to clients such as the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other federal agencies.
Known for his strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, Johnnie excelled in implementing innovative technical solutions, managing complex projects, and leading diverse teams.
In addition to his accomplishments in technology and the arts, Johnnie is also a licensed Realtor in Florida and North Carolina, helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership dreams.
Johnnie has also served as a leader in his church as an ordained Deacon, demonstrating his commitment to his faith and community. His desire to see Black children learn to swim in their early years led him to become a Certified Water Safety Instructor, promoting safety and confidence in the water. Additionally, he has served as a Chess Coach at multiple charter schools, teaching children the game of chess as a way to impart important life principles such as critical thinking, patience, and perseverance.
